Cinnamomum camphora
The City Council Committee for Tree Planting
March 1975
This Cinnamomum camphora camphor tree was planted by the City Council Committee for Tree Planting.
Established in 1973, the City Council Committee for Tree Planting aimed to mitigate the loss of green spaces as a consequence of urbanization. The Committee came up with the city’s fundamental green strategies, including the implementation of a Green Declaration, enactment of Green Ordinances, promotion of facility greenification, citizen-led tree-planting, procurement of tree saplings, establishment of greenery associations, and establishment of administrative practices.
