Reason for Donation
On August 5, 1975, to mark 30 years since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and to further strengthen their friendship, the two cities established a Peace Culture Cities relationship. They vowed that contributing to world peace and to the well-being of humankind would form an integral part of their missions as A-bombed Cities. This Sapium sebiferum Chinese tallow was donated along with 5 hydrangea plants by the Nagasaki Seidankai on July 14 in the lead up to this partnership.
