Reason for Donation
The Canadian Government donated a Canadian Acer Rubrum red maple tree, which was planted by the Canadian Ambassador to Japan together with the Mayor of Hiroshima.
Currently, the tree next to the commemorative stone marker is a Liquidambar formosana Chinese sweet gum, the reason for which is unknown.
