Reason for Donation

Ali Silver, assistant to Dr. Albert Schweitzer, was extremely moved following her visit to Hiroshima to deliver a lecture. Upon returning to the Netherlands, she reached out to the Albert Schweitzer Foundation based in Amsterdam, which led them to donate 100 Dr. Albert Schweitzer roses to the City of Hiroshima on March 18, 1969.
