This Cinnamomum camphora camphor tree was planted to commemorate the All Japan Ryokan Association National Convention held in June 1968. During the convention, sponsored by the All Japan Ryokan Hotel Environmental Health Association, a ryokan and hotel modernization exhibit was held in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Hall.
