2013年2月26日	Country Woodland Shcools in Weston, Massachusetts	U.S.A	First greaders in our town study Japan during the school year and this unit focuses on the influences of nature, society and culture on Japanese artists. To deepen their connection the children learn about origami and create origami pieces. Last spring the children learned about the Children's Peace Monument and created these cranes to contribute their own wish for peace in the world. The children loved the process of creating origami and it was a starting point for many to pursue it independently. I would like to offer these cranes in memory of other First graders who we recentry lost in New town, CT. It is a hope that the loss of these innocent children is a catalyst for change in our tolerance of violence in society.
