Mr. Sano received training in a wide variety of subjects, including waste management and agricultural policy, as well as sewerage, waterworks, and urban development.
He deepened his understanding about the reality of the atomic bombing and the preciousness of peace through visiting the A-bomb survivors’ nursing home Mutsumi-en and attending the Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6.
He interacted with Hiroshima’s citizens through visiting the Hiroshima Municipal Technical High School, and through events such as holding presentations about the culture of the Philippines at the Yahata Community Hall.
Mr. Sano plans to use the results of his training to expand the categories of garbage separation and introduce home-use disposal machines for kitchen waste, as well as implementing the producers’ information seal for agricultural products.
