Training Content
Due to waste management problems in Ba Phnom District, Mr. Mam learned mainly about the collection, management and recycling of waste, as well as public health, and waterworks and sewerage services.
Peace Study
Mr. Mam visited the Peace Memorial Museum and attended the Peace Memorial Ceremony. He also participated in the World Peace Bell Assembly (organized by the Hiroshima UNESCO Association) and listened to the opening high level session of the 25th UN Conference on Disarmament Issues in Hiroshima.
Exchange with Citizens
Mr. Mam spent 3 days and 2 nights at a local homestay and had exchanges with Soroptimist International of Hiroshima-Chuo, as well as the Hiroshima Cambodia Association and Hiroshima Cambodia Citizen Exchange Association.
Future Plans
Mr. Mam believed that the knowledge and techniques he acquired in Hiroshima would be very useful to his district and Cambodia. He plans on sharing them with students and other people, NGOs, and local governments in Cambodia in order to reinforce their environmental efforts and solve the urban problems in Cambodia.
