Training Content

Because of a lack of an appropriate waste management systems in Dehiwala Mt. Lavinia, Mr. Ganegoda Hitihamilage mainly learned about waste management, as well as public health, sewerage and waterworks.

Peace Study

Mr. Ganegoda Hitihamilage visited the Peace Memorial Museum and an A-bomb survivors nursing home, and attended the Mayors for Peace General Conference and an international symposium, as well as the Peace Memorial Ceremony.

Exchange with Citizens

Mr. Ganegoda Hitihamilage had exchanges with the Environemental Support Network and the Friends of Sri Lanka Association.

Future Plans

Utilizing the outcomes of his training, Mr. Ganegoda Hitihamilage plans to improve Dehiwala Mt. Lavinia's waste separation, waste reduction and recycling systems.
