Training Content
Due to the population growth caused by rapid development in her home town of Kuching City North, the increase in solid waste is becoming a great problem. Consequently, in Hiroshima she received training mainly about solid waste reduction and separation (recycling) as well as public sanitation, waterworks and sewerage services.
Peace Study
She visited the Peace Memorial Museum and the National Peace Memorial Hall, participated in the World Peace Bell Assembly (organized by Hiroshima UNESCO Association) and the Peace Memorial Ceremony.
Exchange with Citizens
She spent 4 days and 3 nights at a local homestay, met with Environmental Supporters and Soroptimist International of Hiroshima-Chuo, as well as attending various citizen's events.
Future Plans
She plans to utilize the knowledge acquired during this training, to increase citizen awareness of the issues, and is considering showing waste processing to the general public.
