Training Period

June 30 to August 28, 2017 (60 days)

Area of Focus

Through lectures and on-site learning (garbage disposal facilities, landfills) about waste management and countermeasures for air/noise pollution in Hiroshima City, he learned about many facets of environmental protection. He also recieved training seminars about public health and sanitation, sewage projects, city planning, and more.

Peace Education

Visit to the Peace Memorial Museum, participation in the Peace Memorial Ceremony, and participation in the Peace Bell Gathering (organized by Hiroshima UNESCO).

Exchange with Local Citizens

Three day, two night homestay; meeting with the Central Hiroshima branch of Soroptimist International.

Future Plans

Mr. Phengmany plans to use his training to contribute to envionmental monitoring in collaboration with local society, businesses, and educational organizations, as well as contribute to environmental education for the next generation.
