Mr. Lonpairee participated in programs regarding a wide variety of subjects, including environmental conservation, sewerage, waterworks, and urban development.
He deepened his understanding about the reality of the atomic bombing and the preciousness of peace through visiting the A-bomb survivors’ nursing home Mutsumi-en and attending the Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6.
He interacted with Hiroshima’s citizens through visiting the Minami-kanon Elementary School, and through events such as holding presentations about Thai culture at the Tsuboi Community Hall.
Mr. Lonpairee plans to use the results of his training to work on garbage separation and reduction, as well as on waste and pollution management. Furthermore, he will make efforts to locally organize an A-bomb poster exhibition, and to encourage surrounding cities to join Mayors for Peace.
