Heads of International Organizations in FY2015

Ms. Sally Fegan-Wyles, Executive Director of UNITAR and Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, visited Hiroshima and met with Mayor Matsui on May 19, 2015.

Mr. Koji Sekimizu, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization, visited Hiroshima to attend the Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6, 2015.

Mr. Tadateru Konoe, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), visited Hiroshima to attend the Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6, 2015.

Mr. Konoe visited Hiroshima again to attend the UN Conference on Disarmament Issues in Hiroshima on August 26, 2015.

On August 6, 2015, Mr. Lassina Zerbo, Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), visited Hiroshima to attend the Peace Memorial Ceremony.

Mr. Zerbo again visited Hiroshima to attend the Group of Eminent Persons (GEM) Meeting and UN Conference on Disarmament Issues in Hiroshima later in August, and listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony.

H.E. Ms. Taous Feroukhi, President of the 2015 NPT Review Conference, visited Hiroshima to attend the UN Conference on Disarmament Issues in Hiroshima.

Ms. Feroukhi also visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered flowers at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims on August 26, 2015.

H.E. Mr. Mogens Lykketoft, President of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly, visited Hiroshima and met with Mayor Matsui on September 8, 2015.

Mr. Lykketoft also visited the Peace Memorial Museum, offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, and listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony.

Mr. Nikhil Seth, Executive Director of UNITAR and Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, visited Hiroshima and met with Mayor Matsui on February 3, 2016.

Executive Director Seth also visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered flowers at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims.
