Ms. Sharon Riggle, Director of UN Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific visited Hiroshima to attend the Peace Memorial Ceremony and met with Mayor Matsui on August 6, 2014.
Director Riggle also offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims and listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony.
Dr. David Malone, Rector of the United Nations University (Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations) visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered flowers at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims on September 15, 2014.
Mr. Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited Hiroshima with Mr. Tadateru Konoe, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
On Febrary 11, 2015, after visiting the Peace Memorial Museum and offering a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims and the Monument in Memory of Dr. Marcel Junod, President Maurer met with Mayor Matsui. He then listened to an Atomic Bomb survivor's testimony.
H.E. Mr. Ahmet Uzumcu, Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) visited Hiroshima and met with Mayor Matsui on February 11, 2015.
Prior to the meeting, Director-General Uzumcu visited the Peace Memorial Museum, offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims and listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony.
