Foreign ministers of NPDI (Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative) member countries; H.E. Ms. Julie Bishop (Australia), H.E. Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier (Germany), H.E. Mr. Frans Timmermans (The Netherlands), H.E. Mr. Albert F. del Rosario (The Philippines), H.E. Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu (Turkey), H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber (UAE); and H.E. Dr. Marty Natalegawa, Indonesian Foreign Minister as a guest speaker visited Hiroshima to attend the 8th NPDI Ministerial Meeting.
On April 11, 2014, the ministers were welcomed by many citizens including children at the Peace Memorial Park, and offered flowers at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, escorted by Mayor Matsui.
Later they visited the Peace Memorial Museum and listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony.
H.E. Mr. Sirodjidin Aslov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims on June 28, 2014.
H.E. Dr. Karas Monika, President of the Hungarian National Media and Infocommunications Authority, visited Hiroshima and met with Deputy Mayor Nishito on August 21, 2014.
After the meeting, Dr. Karas visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims.
H.E. Mr. Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal, visited Hiroshima and met with Mayor Matsui on October 6, 2014.
After the meeting, Minister Pandey visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims.
H.E. Mr. Somdy Douangdy, Minister of Planning and Investment of Lao PDR, visited Hiroshima and met with Deputy Mayor Nishito on October 20, 2014.
After the meeting, Minister Douangdy visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims.
Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, Minister of Home and Cultural Affairs of the Kingdom of Bhutan, visited Hiroshima and met with mayor Matsui on October 29, 2014.
Prior to the meeting, Minister Dorji visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims.
H.E. Mr. Nasir Ahmad Dyrrani, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims on March 26, 2015.
Minister Durrani also listened to the reading of an A-bomb survivor's memoir.
