Contributute to the Preservation of the A-bomb Dome

While the memory of the atomic bombings is fading globally, the role of the Atomic Bomb Dome, which conveys to future generations the catastrophic devastation caused by the first use of the atomic bomb in human history, has become more significant than ever before. The Atomic Bomb Dome is a symbol which calls for the elimination of nuclear weapons and communicates the importance of realizing world peace.

In order to permanently preserve the Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the City of Hiroshima has established the Hiroshima City Atomic Bomb Dome Preservation Project Fund to implement preservation work.

The City of Hiroshima would highly appreciate your kind contribution toward the preservation of the Atomic Bomb Dome. Contributions will be reserved for the Hiroshima City Atomic Bomb Dome Preservation Project Fund and used for the following expenses:

• Repair work needed as result of natural phenomena or natural and artificial disasters
• Preventive work to protect the Dome from further destruction and deterioration
• Restoration work necessitated by damages and collapse
• Other work deemed necessary for preservation

How to contribute

There are three different ways to make a contribution.

Please fill out a contribution form. You can either mail the form and cash donation to the Peace Promotion Division, or bring them to our office in person.

Pay at a nearby financial institution in Japan

Please fill out a contribution form and bring it in person or send it by regular mail, fax or an e-mail attachment to the Peace Promotion Division.
Upon receiving the form, we will send you a payment notice usable at a financial institution near you. When you use this payment notice to donate your contribution, no handling fees are necessary.
