Every other year, the City of Hiroshima holds Hiroshima Festival, an integrated cultural arts event focused on music and media arts (animation, etc.) that aims to invigorate cultural arts activities in the Hiroshima Regional Urban Area (HURA), create a vibrant city, and promote tourism. In addition to these aims, we also hope to give visitors to the Festival, including Hiroshima citizens, as well as domestic and overseas visitors to the HRUA, more opportunities to connect with diverse high-quality music and art, as well as to promote the Culture of Peace, which shares the will for peace.
Through the Festival, we will create opportunities for cultural organizations, artists, students, and more in the HRUA to perform, and hope to promote community-building between participants and organizations, as well as foster expansion and cultivation of the next generation that will take the lead in cultural arts activities.
