Holding Events during the Culture of Peace Month

In order to raise awareness of peace in civil society, the City of Hiroshima has designated every November as the Culture of Peace Month, during which we frequently implement efforts to share the wish for peace, through holding art and culture activities, sports exchanges among other cultural activities. 

In 2021, we held a total of 35 events, including a lecture themed on the culture of peace, a noh performance in front of the Atomic Bomb Dome, and a presentation on the efforts for peace by young people.

In 2022 we expanded the extent of our initiatives to surrounding municipalities and held 68 events. Each event used a common logo which was decided by citizens' vote. We will continue to work with citizens groups and private companies to familiarize many people with the Culture of Peace Month.
