Presidents/Speakers of National Parliaments in FY2010

H.E. Mr. Per Westerberg, Speaker of the Riksdag of the Kingdom of Sweden, visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims on May 9, 2010.

Speaker Westerberg also listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony.

H.E. Mr. Froilan C. Tenorio, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Northern Mariana Islands, visited Hiroshima and met with Mayor Akiba on May 25, 2010.

Speaker Tenorio also visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims later that day.

H.E. Mr. Thongsing Thammavong, President of the National Assembly of Lao People's Democratic Republic, visited Hiroshima and met with Mayor Akiba on May 27, 2010.

Prior to the meeting, Mr. Thammavong visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims.

H.E. Mr. Mehmet Ali Sahin, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, escorted by Deputy Mayor Toyoda on October 20, 2010.

Speaker Sahin also listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony.

H.E. Mr. Oral Mukhamedzhanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, escorted by Deputy Mayor Komekami on November 22, 2010.

H.E. Dr. Margaret Nnananyana Nasha, Speaker of the Parliment of the Republic of Botswana, visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, escorted by Deputy Mayor Toyoda on January 27, 2011.

Speaker Nasha also met with the Chairperson of the Hiroshima City Council and listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony.
