Heads of State in FY2016

The picture of H.E. Mr. Barack H. Obama, President of the United States of America1

H.E. Mr. Barack H. Obama, President of the United States of America, visited the Peace Memorial Park for the first time on May 27, 2016.

After visiting the Peace Memorial Museum, President Obama laid a wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims and delivered remarks. Following this, President Obama exchanged words with A-bomb survivors and went to view the Atomic Bomb Dome with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida.

ナザルバエフ大統領献花

H.E. Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, visited Hiroshima for the first time on November 9, 2016.

After visiting the Peace Memorial Museum, escorted by Chairperson Komizo of the Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation, President Nazarbayev paid his respects at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims. 
President Nazarbayev then moved to the International Conference Hall and made a speech in front of citizens after being presented with the title of Hiroshima City Special Honorary Citizenship.
