Heads of State in FY2009

H.E. Mr. S R Nathan, President of the Republic of Singapore, visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, escorted by Mayor Akiba, on May 14, 2009.

President Nathan listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony later that day.

H.E. Dr. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian National Authority, visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, escorted by Mayor Akiba, on February 7, 2010.

H.E. Dr. José Manuel Ramos-Horta, President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, visited the Peace Memorial Museum and offered a flower wreath at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims, escorted by Mayor Akiba, on March 19, 2010.

Later that day President Ramos-Horta listened to an A-bomb survivor's testimony and participated in a forum, titled "A Dialogue with President Ramos-Horta: Promoting Nuclear Abolition and Peace Building."
