The Consumer Affairs Center is in charge of:
Consumer Affairs Consultations
We accept consultations and complaints about products or services and helps to solve those issues.
Where possible, we ask that consultations are made by those directly affected by the issue in question.
We do not handle consultations from businesses regarding business operations.
Note: A speech translation system is available for those who are not confident in their Japanese abilities.
Consumer University
Our Consumer University holds lectures for consumers seeking to educate themselves about different consumer issues so that we can foster human resources who will become consumer affairs experts in the community.
Lecturer Service (Free On-Site Consumer Affairs Lectures)
Our goal is education that helps to prevent consumer issues before they happen and helps to foster independent consumers; learn more with our free lecturer service.

Displays of information on products, services, and more.
Consumer Affairs Materials Lending Service (Books/Videos)
We have a wealth of information about consumer issues and product knowledge, including educational materials and videos available to borrow free of charge.
Consumer Affairs Seminar Room
Our seminar room is available for use free of charge for consumer groups and independent consumer affairs-related activities. You can find details here (Japanese).
Consumer Affairs Newsletter Shittoku Nattoku (Learn More, Gain More)
Our newsletter features in-depth articles about consumer issues and examples of consultations, and more. (Published three times per year; Japanese)
May Consumer Month Projects
May is National Consumer Month, and all month long we work to raise consumer awareness with various projects.
Price Surveys
Our private sector surveyors periodically monitor and survey retail store price trends as well as supply and demand for everyday goods.
Consumer Rights Protection
To prevent infringement of consumer rights, we issue warnings and advisories to business owners found in violation of items forbidden by the Hiroshima City Consumer Affairs Ordinance (enacted April 1, 2007).
