Picter of City Emblem

The Hiroshima City emblem was established on May 19, 1896. It consists of three lines, based on the three stripes found on the banner of Geishu-han (ancient name of Hiroshima Prefecture), which have been slightly curved to represent the rivers that flow through the city. This emblem serves as the symbol of Hiroshima, the City of Water.
