Product name Baby Keepsake Calligraphy Brushes
Product description
Combining your child's first haircut and Kawajiri brushmaking techniques to create a once-in-a-lifetime gift
Kōbundō has an impressive 200 year history and inherits the traditional brushmaking techniques of Kawajiri-cho in Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture, an area that has been producing brushes made with natural hair since the end of the Edo period.
Around 1980, when calligraphy brush production began to wane, Kōbundō received a request to create a keepsake brush (a baby brush made with hair from their first haircut). The customer was delighted with the final product, calling it an incredible treasure to give to their precious child. This glowing review led the company to begin officially producing keepsake brushes. Now, Kōbundō has created over 1,000,000 keepsake brushes, bringing joy and delight to their many customers.
The brush handle is made from high-quality natural sakura wood, and the wooden box that protects the brush is made from paulownia wood to ensure that the brush can be safely stored to last a lifetime. Valuing the love that parents have for their children, Kōbundō will continue to work their hardest to deliver a one-of-a-kind keepsake brush to their customers.
