Address for sending folded paper cranes for the Children’s Peace Monument

Article ID:0000010081 印刷ページ表示

Anyone is free to give folded paper cranes as offerings to the Children’s Peace Monument in Peace Memorial Park, and in the case that you are unable to come to the park to deliver the cranes directly, we will place the cranes at the Children’s Peace Monument on your behalf if you send them to the address provided below. Please note that it is not possible to specify the day on which the cranes are placed at the monument.

If you would like us to send you a photograph of the cranes being placed at the Children’s Peace Monument, please include a letter to this effect with the folded paper cranes when you send them to us. As a general rule, we send photographs via e-mail, so please be sure to include an e-mail address if possible. If you do not have an e-mail address, please provide your postal address.

The paper for the folded paper cranes need not be origami paper; advertisement sheets or wrapping paper can also be used, and any color can be used. However, when making large folded cranes or works in a panel form, please keep dimensions to within a reasonable scale in consideration of other people offering folded paper cranes to the monument. Please be sure to tie the strings of cranes in bundles.

If you wish to offer 10,000 or more folded paper cranes to the monument, please contact us in advance.

Furthermore, we would like to record the names of people who send folded paper cranes for the Children’s Peace Monument as well as messages from them in a “Folded Paper Crane Database” in order to pass on the thoughts and feelings of everyone desiring peace to future generations. If you wish to be recorded in the “Folded Paper Crane Database,” please fill out the Folded Paper Crane Database Registration Form—including the name of your organization (in the case that the offering is being made by a school or organization), your name (in the case of an organization, the name of the organization’s representative), and your message—and include the form when you send the folded paper cranes. In addition, as part of peace learning, we recommend that when sending folded paper cranes for the Children’s Peace Memorial you learn about atomic bomb damage (general overview), the origins of the “Children’s Peace Memorial,” and the status of the world’s nuclear weapons, etc., and talk about these issues with the people around you.
