This kamaboko (fish cake) is shaped like the shamoji rice paddles of Miyajima Island, home to one of Japan's three best scenic views, the Itsukushima Shrine, and it might just bring you good luck. While keeping alive the long-prospering traditions of Hiroshima Kusatsu kamaboko, we use an original technique in which the kamaboko is sandwiched on both sides for grilling. Golden brown and fragrant with a crispy, full-bodied texture, our kamaboko has long been prized as a quick and healthy snack.
