Using Vacation Rental Services
Vacation rental services (minpaku//民泊) which allow travelers to book online (etc) and stay at ordinary homes, such as apartments, for a fee are on the rise. The City of Hiroshima requires those providing vacation rental services to have a business license based on the Hotel Business Act, or submit a notification based on the Private Lodging Business Law.
To those using vacation rental services
In order to ensure that you can enjoy our city safely, please be sure to check that where you’re staying has a business license based on the Hotel Business Act, or have submitted a notification based on the Private Lodging Business Law. To our citizens
There are some vacation rental services which operate illegally (without a business license or submitting notification); the Health and Sanitation offices examine and provide guidance to these facilities. If you believe there is a facility operating illegally in your neighborhood, please contact the Enviromental Sanitation Division of your Health and Sanitation office. If submitting information via email, please be sure to include details about the location (address and room number, etc), as well as photos of the building.
