As of May 22, Hiroshima Prefecture has lifted business operating restrictions from sports facilities and entertainment establishments such as karaoke establishments, live music venues, bars, and nightclubs.

However, as these facilities still carry a high risk of infection such as cluster outbreaks as seen nationwide, I hereby request that reopened businesses keep track of user contact information, cooperate with investigations by health and sanitation offices should new infections occur, and allow for the name of their business to be made public if we cannot determine who may possibly be infected.

I also hereby request that each facility strictly adheres to the infection prevention measures decided by each industry organization.

Sports facilities, for example, should implement measures such as routine disinfection of training equipment, ensure that enclosed spaces such as studios, locker rooms, and shower facilities are well ventilated, and secure enough space between equipment and machines.

Karaoke establishments should ask for customers to wear masks when not singing, as well as implement measures such as disinfecting karaoke rooms after each group of customers leave.

I ask that prefectural citizens refrain from using establishments which do not adhere to these strict infection prevention measures, and for your cooperation in ensuring that another virus outbreak does not occur.

Help stop the spread of COVID-19 by frequently washing your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, maintaining proper coughing etiquette, and avoiding the 3Cs (closed spaces, crowded places, close-contact settings).
