Product name Amabito no Moshio: Japanese Seaweed Salt
Product description
A crystal of the ocean’s natural bounty
Amabito no Moshio is a traditional seaweed salt brought back to life after a millennium, based on ancient salt‑making pottery discovered on Kamikamagari Island in Kure.
Made using only seawater from the Seto Inland Sea and domestically harvested seaweed (hondawara), the salt is slowly simmered in kettles. This careful method concentrates the flavor while infusing the salt with minerals derived from the seaweed, resulting in a mild, savory taste. To preserve this traditional flavor, both the ingredients and the production method are faithfully followed, and the salt is crafted right on the same shoreline where the pottery was unearthed.
Its smooth umami and gentle salinity enhance the natural flavors of any ingredient, elevating everyday dishes. The Hiroshima‑inspired packaging also makes it a wonderful gift.
