The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons has entered into force!

The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) was adopted by 122 countries on July 7, 2017 and opened for signature on September 20, 2017.

On October 24, 2020, the number of states ratifying the treaty reached 50. The treaty took effect on January 22, 2021, 90 days after the 50th ratification.
