Supplemental information for those aged 12-17

As a rule, those aged 12 and over are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination booster on the day that five months have passed* since their second dose.

At present, those ages 12-17 can only receive the Pfizer vaccine for their booster.

*“The day that XX months have passed” means that you are eligible for vaccination on the same day after XX months have passed since your full vaccination (see Example 1); if the same day does not exist XX months later, you will be eligible for vaccination on the first day of the next month (see Example 2).

  • Example 1: For those eligible “Beginning the same day that eight months have passed since receiving your second dose”: If you received your second vaccination on 6/1, you can receive your booster beginning 2/1 (the same day after eight months have passed).
  • Example 2: For those eligible “Beginning the same day that eight months have passed since receiving your second dose”: If you received your second vaccination on 6/30, you can receive your booster beginning 3/1 (as the same day does not exist eight months later, you will be eligible for vaccination on the first day of the next month).
