Long-term Care Services

Those who have been certified as needing long term care or long term support can use
services covered by Long Term Care insurance.
However, available services depend on the level of care needed. When you use Long Term
Care services, you must pay 10%, 20%, or 30% of the costs to which Long Term Care
insurance applies. Those who pay 20%, or 30% are people with incomes more than a
certain amount.
Elderly people who have not been certified as needing long term care, but do fulfill certain
requirements, can use home-visit care services and facility-visit care services provided by
the Long Term Care Prevention and Comprehensive Daily Life Support Program (Kaigo
Yobo Seikatsu Shien Sogo Jigyo).
For more information, contact the Longevity and Health Services Division of your local ward
or branch office (Welfare Division of the Higashi Ward Office). See pages 27 for office
details.
