Formal Requests to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 During Hanami Season at City Parks (as of 3/15/2021)

While the Hiroshima Prefectural Government Intensive COVID-19 Infection Prevention Measures ended on February 21, 2021, moving forward, it is still necessary that we continue to take measures to avoid situations where there is a high risk of infection.

Thus, as we approach the hanami season (cherry blossom viewing party season) and hanami parties are held at parks, we ask that you continue to strictly adhere to infection prevention measures by holding these parties with similar restrictions put in place under last year’s emergency formal requests. We ask for your understanding and cooperation for a safe hanami season.

Formal Requests Regarding Hanami Parties

1) Please refrain from eating/drinking and talking in loud voices.

2) Abide by the following rules:

  • Choose a wide open, well-ventilated space
  • Keep your group small (about five people per group)
  • Keep groups two or more meters apart
  • Keep your hanami short (about two hours)
  • Don’t attend if you’re not feeling well)

3) Be sure to adhere to basic infection prevention measures such as washing your hands and coughing etiquette (including wearing a mask); tie trash bags tightly and take all garbage home with you when you leave.
