The Hiroshima Brand system certifies particularly outstanding specialty products from Hiroshima and promotes them throughout Japan to improve their name recognition and boost sales, as well as improve the image of Hiroshima, thus aiming to vitalize the regional economy and promote more visitors to Hiroshima. Our Hiroshima Brand certification system was established in 2007, and as of April 2020, we have certified the 83 products listed on this page.
A culmination of various urban functions, Hiroshima City is also an area blessed by bountiful nature and filled with fresh, seasonal food ingredients throughout the year. Here, we’ll introduce delicious Hiroshima Brand foods and confections popular in Hiroshima.
A refreshing cider filled with the rich bounty of the Setouchi region with a hint of Amabito no Moshio seaweed salt
Our cider is made with whole, preservative and wax-free Hiroshima lemons (peel and all!) grown in the sunshine of the temperate Setouchi region; each bottle has the equivalent of one lemon’s worth of juice. We’ve also added the perfect pinch of Amabito no Moshio (sea salt), a specialty product of Hiroshima, to this new cider, making the fresh lemon flavor really pop. With a sparkling golden package design, this is a uniquely Hiroshima soft drink full of the refreshing fragrance and mellow tang of Hiroshima lemons.(Low calorie, lightly sweetened)

Freshly-brewed flavor
Our sake uses Hiroshima-grown rice specifically for sake brewing, ginjo yeast, and pure soft water from Mt. Iwataki to create a unique and distinct Hiroshima sake. We don’t use activated carbon filtration in our process, which means that you get all that fresh-brewed sake taste: a beautiful aroma with a hint of sweetness sure to please any palate.

Sparkling sake from a brewery that dates back to the early 1800s
Founded some 200 years ago, the Yahatagawa Sake Brewery’s seasonal lightly sparkling nigori (unfiltered) sake is made with Hiroshima-grown Chūsei Shinsenbon rice and spring water from Mt. Gokurakuji. Our sake is made in the kassei style: the final product is coarsely filtered from the matured moromi mash with no additional water or heating techniques used, leaving the yeasts active. The distinct fresh aroma of active sake and the rich flavor nigori sake is known for with a carbonated twist; this sweet sake is sure to please.

Authentic shōchū with the sweetness of Hiroshima-grown sweet potatoes
Our authentic shōchū uses prized Hiroshima-grown beni azuma sweet potatoes often eaten roasted and known for their sweetness and the refreshing waters of nationally-designated Special Place of Scenic Beauty, the Sandankyō Gorge in Hiroshima. Our commitment to local ingredients combined with the temperate climes of the region are what make this shōchū distinctly Hiroshima. One sip and you’ll taste the sweet and smoky flavor of our sweet potatoes, followed by a deep richness without being too heavy. The light body is balanced carefully with full flavor in this delicious shōchū.
