[UPDATE] COVID-19 Financial Relief (as of 8/20/2020)

Note: lines will be closed from 12 pm to 1 pm

The Support Fund and Allowance for the Leave Forced to be Taken Under the COVID-19 Outbreak

This fund pays 80% of your wage before taking leave (with a maximum daily amount of 11,000 yen) according to the record of leave forced to be taken.

Social Welfare Council Temporary Loan Emergency Funds

Available for those who have lost income or their jobs because of COVID-19 and are struggling to make ends meet. For more information, please see the brochure below:

Emergency Small Amount Loans

Available primarily for those who have been placed on temporary leave from their place of employment.

Welfare Loans

Available primarily for those who have lost their jobs.

Rent Support

For those having trouble paying their rent because of COVID-19-related loss of income or unemployment, please contact the Call Center for Housing Benefits to see if you are eligible for rent support in which the City of Hiroshima temporarily pays your rent (income restrictions apply).

Delayed or Reduced Payments for City Services

Schools

You may be eligible to delay or reduce your tuition payments for municipal high schools and universities. You may also be eligible to receive textbooks, learning supplies, or school supplies for elementary school and junior high school students. Please see here for a list of who to contact.

Taxes

You may be eligible to delay your tax payments. Please see here for details.

Medical Services/Health Insurance/National Pension

You may be eligible to delay or reduce insurance fees for long-term care services, national pension, national health insurance, or medical care for late-stage senior citizens (75 years or older). Please see here for details.

Social Welfare Services

You may be eligible for (a) a delay in submitting Disability Basic Pension notifications, (b) a reduction of usage fees for welfare services for those with disabilities, or (c) a delay/reduction of nursery school fees. Please see here for details.

Waterworks/Sewage Works

You may be eligible to delay your waterworks/sewage works payments. Please see here for details.

Housing

The City of Hiroshima provides temporary municipal housing to those in need. Please see here for details.
