The paper cranes dedicated at the Children’s Peace Monument in Peace Memorial Park are entrusted with thoughts and prayers for peace, as well as dreams and wishes of the contributors. We are promoting policies to transform and honor the spirit of the paper cranes, so that the peace wishes dedicated to their creation may reach beyond local boundaries and enter the hearts of many people around the world, expanding the circle of support for nuclear weapons abolition and giving rise to a shared, global vision towards world peace. We will be distributing paper cranes to citizens and organizations carrying out projects in line with these objectives.
Paper cranes will be distributed to groups or individuals carrying out projects in line with the objectives outlined in the informational flier
compiled by the Policy Review Committee for Transforming and Honoring the Paper Cranes.
Please fill out the Paper Crane Request Form (Form 1) and Event Planning Form (Form 2), and post, E-mail, or submit the forms in person to the address at the bottom of the page. These forms can be downloaded below.
※ According to the Hiroshima City Personal Information Protection Ordinance, provided personal information will not be used for any purpose other than for contacting the applicant or in relation to contacts for distribution of the paper cranes, and will not be shared with third parties without obtaining prior consent.
After review of the forms, as long as the content and aims of the project are deemed to be appropriate, you will be notified of the approval for distribution of paper cranes.
※ After receiving approval, there may be follow-up inspections on the status of the event implementation, such as requesting of an event progress report.
※ If it has been determined as a result of the inspections that the event implementation is not appropriate, Hiroshima City may request the organizer of the event to take necessary action, or to return part or all of the paper cranes.
After confirmation of the delivery date and place, as a rule, paper cranes will be delivered packed in bags (about 13,000 cranes to a bag, 11 kg total).
※ As far as it is in our capacity, Hiroshima City will cover the delivery and postage fees.
After the project’s completion, please submit the Implementation Report (Form 4).
