Hiroshima City has made the Web accessibility assist tool "WebUD" available since April 1, 2005, to make our website more accessible for the elderly, people with disabilities, children, and non-Japanese residents with limited skills in the Japanese language.
| (Note) |
Web accessibility refers to the practice of making information provided in websites (web pages) accessible for and usable by the elderly, people with disabilities, and other users who have physical or mental impairments.
|
The following are the notes on using the software:
| 1. |
Any individual who accepts the terms and conditions of the License Agreement can download and use "WebUD".
|
| 2. |
Users of "WebUD" must read the detailed description before starting to use the software. |

The accessibility functions provided by "WebUD" (audio reading, conversion to hiragana , enlargement display, change color) are available at Hiroshima City's website. (See here for URLs covered by the software.) In Web pages other than these URLs, text input support functions (such as software keyboard) are still available.
|
In some cases, conversion to hiragana and audio reading may be incorrect. You can reduce incorrect conversion and reading by downloading the "user dictionary" specifically designed for the Hiroshima City website. Even after the user dictionary is downloaded, incorrect conversion and reading might still occur. We will continue to improve the accuracy of conversion and recognition.
